Next Generation HEVC Codec Solution

Chips&Media’s WAVE515 is one of the most advanced hardware
video decoder IP core supporting next generation High Efficiency
Video Coding(HEVC) standard, also known as H.265, Google’s VP9, and
Chinese AVS2 with optimized IP size.                                                                                                                                                                    
WAVE515 is Chips&Media’s 2nd generation video IP with enhanced
performance for high-end UHD resolution support SoCs. The IP requires
only about 380MHz clock frequency to decode 4K(3840x2160) at 60fps video
or to decode 4K at 30fps of two channels of video with different video
standards.                                                                                                                                                                                             
In addition to its superior high resolution(4K) capabilities, WAVE515 also
provides maximum bandwidth efficiency and exceptionally low power
consumption, which are today’s most demanding requirements
across all connected devices. With CFrameTM embedded frame buffer
compression technology, memory access bandwidth reduction of 50~70%
can be achieved.                                                                                                                                                                                   
WAVE515 is suitable for applications across various industry segments
including ultra high definition televisions(UHD TVs), set-top boxes(STBs),
VR·ARs, smartphones, tablets and any others applications or devices
with super high resolution.
